This I Believe
I provide a comfortable environment for students where friendship and collaboration are important and where the innate curiosity of the child is the primary tool for learning.
A Teacher Who Inspired Me: My kindergarten teacher, Miss Scott, my 1st/2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Hurley, and my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Firish. These teachers all took interest in the individual and taught with caring support, motivating and challenging me to do my best in whatever I endeavored to do. I grew to love school and I truly believe that these early childhood educators became the most positive influence in my life and influenced many aspects of my being, among them my love of books and music. More importantly, I learned that if you have people (teachers) that take a genuine interest in you in these early years, you naturally ‘become interested’ in yourself and want to learn to be ‘more interesting’, more skilled, and the best person you can be.
A Trinity Student Is…a unique individual, however always a part of a school/classroom community.
I Teach Because…I teach children in their youngest years. I believe if one provides a foundation of caring and support with interesting and challenging experiences, children will want to come to school and always enjoy learning.
Something I am Passionate About Outside of Education is… My family, baking, and children’s books.
Favorite Spot on Campus: Lower campus – Memorial Garden. It has water, flowers, wildlife (birds, squirrels and insects) and is open and inviting.
