Drama
Empowering student voices is at the heart of Trinity's drama program, designed to help students from Kindergarten through Grade 5 discover and express their inner voices to various audiences.
Students learn to communicate and present their ideas effectively on stage and in everyday situations through engaging activities. These skills are beneficial in theatrical settings and public speaking events they will encounter throughout their lives, instilling confidence and a sense of preparedness for the future.
The drama program also plays a vital role in our social-emotional learning (SEL) approach, helping students build self-awareness, empathy, and collaboration skills. Students have opportunities to showcase their talents in various settings, such as the Poetry Café, where they share original works in a supportive, community-focused atmosphere, and through our partnership with the San Francisco Opera, where they engage with professional stagecraft and vocal performance. These are just a few opportunities designed to foster creative expression and personal growth.
Key elements of the program include public speaking, physical acting, voice projection and modulation, stagecraft, direction, theatrical terminology, and vocal cadence. Through these experiences, Trinity students develop bravery, confidence, and the willingness to take creative risks, equipping them with skills that extend well beyond the classroom and throughout their lives.
