Furry friends bringing joy to students at Trinity School

This year’s Read Across America celebration at Trinity School was extra special, thanks to some four-legged guests who stole the show!
As part of its commitment to fostering a love of reading, the school welcomed Paws for Tales, a program from the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, for a heartwarming session of storytelling and snuggles with service dogs.
Students gathered in two different locations on campus, eagerly awaiting their turn to read to their new furry friends. The two visiting service dogs — Mandy and Jethro — were perfect listeners. They offered wagging tails, warm eyes, and plenty of gentle encouragement as children read aloud.
Whether it was a classic Dr. Seuss tale or a favorite picture book, the experience gave students a unique way to build confidence in their reading skills while forming a special bond with these lovable canine companions.
“I loved reading to you [Jethro], I hope you come again soon.” one student beamed after finishing a story, while another giggled as Jethro rested its head on her lap, seemingly captivated by the tale being told.
